After some research, it’s easy to see why women drivers pay so much less for their insurance than men. They are safer, the accidents they are the cause of rarely require large amounts of rebuilding and they often times don’t get nearly as many tickets. However, there are certain age groups of women that should be aware that liability isn’t the best option.
Women who are between sixteen and twenty-four and don’t have children will often times need to purchase additional insurance. This is because in this age range it is not uncommon for drivers to be too inexperienced to properly handle their own vehicles, especially under strenuous circumstances. This means that, despite being better drivers overall, women of this age will generally incur more infractions and if in an accident will likely need to have more damages repaired.
Between twenty-five and sixty it is acceptable to allow the coverage to decrease slightly, which coupled with the standard age twenty-five drop in rates will allow someone to save a decent amount of money. Women of this age range generally take very few risks and will not likely need the additional coverage from other ages.
Due to age, women sixty and above should have additional coverage because of the likelihood of injury if they are involved in an accident and because they are more likely to get in an accident because of slowing reflexes. It is advisable that women in this age range secure the same type of coverage as those who are new drivers because the risks increase greatly. This is not to say that there cannot be less or more coverage at any given time, just some factors to think about when you buy your insurance.
